Bricks 02:05
What’ll be the catalyst? Perhaps a false flag from a masochist. You’d have to be a pacifist to actually believe it was an accident. Bricks fall down. Bricks fall down. Drown in dust. Now we’ve been crushed by the system in a rush. They told us hush. In God you trust. Good Lord, evil sprouted from the ground on that day. Another shot heard ‘round the whole world. Another war under way. But you can take my rights, you can tie my noose. You can take our lives and you can lie in suits. You can take the light but you can’t hide the truth...truth. What’ll be the catalyst? Perhaps a false flag from a masochist. What’ll be the catalyst? Perhaps a false flag from a masochist. Times are different now. We should have seen the writing all up on the wall. The bricks that rose now fall. Now we the people getting buried in it all. Times are different now. We should have seen the writing all up on the wall. The bricks that rose now fall.

Can’t even describe the pain of seeing you crumble. It’s divided we fall and I’m seeing us stumble. I’ve got this weight on my shoulders and I think we’re in trouble. So I wash away my dreams and watch them leave in a puddle with no rebuttal. Then you fog up the mirrors with the smoke that you’re blowing. But we are the heroes and we are the chosen. The reason they fear us...’cause these guns are loaded. If they’re killing our people then we’re about to show them. Locked and loaded. Would you give up your rights just to feel like you’re safe? ‘Cause your freedom’s the price in The Divided States. Like some thieves in the night, no disguise on their face. ‘Cause we’re blind by the hype, seems we’re liking the taste of the violence incited on those that I hate. I don’t even know why, but they’ll die and it’s great. Wait... Shame on me, they just fooled me again. This Patriotic Act’s going to do me in. Aim on me, they’ll recruit me and win. This Patriotic Act’s going to do me in. And I could sign away my soul, you’ll take my life, take control. But not my pride. Take your toll, then I will find Satan’s throne. M16 in my hands. Me and my team have major plans. March my feet in blazing sand. Death is cheap, I’ll pay it back.

How many foxes trotted along the pasture to eat the sheep as you deeply sleep upon the captor? The fences they jump just isn’t enough for defenses as they scatter along the grassy knoll until they spot and capture...and attack you in a rapture. And the laughter filled the air as they sit and stare. Catapult your fist and swear to God that it isn’t fair. So sick of missing home that it’s got you sick of prayers. Just when the coast is clear, they blast a pistol. The fox and hound. They call you a dog, so you bark at them. But you can’t bite the hand that feeds you, so you dart past them. Aiming for your target, but you can’t start to fathom how sharp your teeth really are until you start attacking. And it seems like every day is a goddamn chase. Debris keeps falling in your goddamn face. You need them to give you some goddamn space. It kind of makes you wonder how God can stand this place. The fox and hound. You can smell the fear so you can tell that hell is near. You’re crawling around like tortoise until the shells appear. Then it’s “Get ‘em boy! Sick ’em boy!” and your master won’t let your pack back until the fucking mission’s void. Then you killed a little boy so they want to put you down. When they know it in their hearts that they’re the reason that you came unwound. “Don’t put me in the pound” says the hound to the fox. The fox smirks like “you ain’t getting off that easy. Back to the blocks.” The fox and hound. They can’t throw you a bone so you only catch feelings. Until the throne was overthrown, you felt it was appealing. Had you focused in the zone, so consumed with killing. Now you’re calling this place home even though there ain’t no ceiling. Just a dog on his leash. A monster. A beast. You fought for the peace but all you got was a speech. Tuck your tail between your legs and howl the night away. Still repping the flag as the fox lives to kill anotherday. The fox and hound.

Change 04:19
My heart is heavy. More so than the hand that you swept me with like a broken levee. Would you arrest me if I protested these things? Or would you let me? I bet you would get me. You met me in a lost and found box and led me on a promise you dropped, then left me all alone in this war that was deadly. Don’t you respect me? You wrecked me. Played me like a chess piece and checked me. But nothing hits home. You don’t address me when you’re saying “yes we can.” Whyam I feeling less free. Why am I feeling less free? So where is all this change that you promised? ‘Cause I can’t find a thing in my pockets. Just another broken soul banking on us. Blame it on ‘prophets’ saying “yes we can.” So where is all this change that you promised? ‘Cause I can’t find a thing in my pockets. Just another broken soul banking on us. Blame it on ‘prophets’ saying “yes we can.” How could I feel you? Sometimes I feel like I don’t know the real you. You talked about peace but the weapons still drew. You paint up the numbers but they still skew. My emotion bankrupted and ego’s still grew. So the credit’s still due. And yet you still rule. Continue to break those. It’s real cruel - the way you pretend. Guess I’m the real fool. Turned belief to mildew. Now my hope is killed too. Now my hope is killed too. Blame it on ‘prophets’ saying “yes we can.” By using your eyes, you’re freezing my frame. Burst into flames.

Look in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane. No, it’s a drone over your home and it’s learning your name. You don’t need a turban or a purpose for aim. As long as they suspect, assassination’s the game. Duck, duck, goose. The Government’s loose and it’s corrupt as a motherfucker. You run from the truth. We’ve got to pull the sheets from the people that sleep. Funny how they are the ones that count on them and end up the sheep. Police state we are living in, they are giving us grief all because we occupy Wall Street. Call it conspiracy, I call it a cheat. We could unite but we divide and fall deep. And when the world goes crazy...and when the world goes mad...don’t come running to me, no, ‘cause I warned you it’d get bad. You’re on your own now. You’re all alone now. Still, I’d wish this on no one. Should have known how little time we had. The end is here now. Now fall in line. The revolution won’t be televised, but the media will cover it and sell you the lies and you’ll eat it up ‘cause it’s the devils pie. I’ll never settle for less ‘cause I’m a rebel with pride. I’m getting sick of deception, getting sick of the greed. I don’t know about you, ignorance ain’t blissful to me. Listen, it’s martial law, Holocaust on the verge. Killed our rights, killed our speech so I’m at a loss for words. But still, I was here for you helping you see the light. Just stand up with me, you’ll see. I promise to lead you right. And when the world goes crazy...and when the world goes mad...don’t come running to me, no, ‘cause I warned you it’d get bad. You’re on your own now. You’re all alone now. Still, I’d wish this on no one. Should have known how little time we had. The end is here now. Now fall in line. Simon says I'm in debt. They co-signed to death. I don't mind the threats 'cause I'm so tired of trying to hide for rest. I thought the law should start to kick in. At some point the ball should fall. I know martial arts, y'all should start marshal law. Mark my words. If the pepper gas don't get your ass, their marksmen will sure see to is. The target's blurred you want to mark. Mad at time until the find the power to time travel, to battle the powers that scoured the cowards who traveled. Who made the Tower of Babel? So how many hours of paddling up shit creek must we keep paddling at? My natural habitat's battling that. Trilateral, mad at the fact their secrets are popular to the youth. Is the part of the plan - to box them in a group? Who knows? Call the cab back, lady. I drove myself half crazy. My math's bad, baby. Maybe that's why the rat labs pay me. Maybe they want to know how psycho a psycho with rifle clips gets with night scopes. Hit Eiffel tips. I floss, scope, and aim. Target practice with high beams. Floss, scope, and aim like I'm practicing hygiene. No war should just keep on. No poor should just sheep on. And I'm added to that list they've got Immortal Technique on. Keep on. The end is here now. Now fall in line.

Revolt 04:03
I hear the lies on the news. They took our rights and our right to choose. Is this the world that you knew growing up, or is it new? No diploma for diplomacy. Oh, you woke up from the coma? Go to sleep. Sheep. No aroma from the Folgers. Napalm...good morning soldiers. End the Fed ‘cause I’m fed up. In the end you forget us so you’re no friend. ‘Cause you just start to print and spend. And you just take my check and spend. And you just raise the debt and spend. That’s all you do, collect and... Bombs away like every day. Watch what you say - NDAA. Left or right? Both are wrong. Up or down, which way are we going? I think we’re going down. We’ll march together up to their lawn. Eviction notice. We want you gone. ‘Cause you just start to print and spend. And you just take my check and spend. And you just raise the debt and spend. That’s all you do, collect and spend until we all go broke. So keep your vote, ‘cause we awoke. Revolt now. Light my way. It’s time they pay. Revolt now. This is it. I’ll leave with this. Revolt now...revolt now.

about

Ohio singer/songwriter/producer D1 has come together with DJBooth.net to bring listeners his latest street release, the Political Love Story EP.

The follow-up to March's Soul Blue tape, the EP is a conceptual project telling the story of a teenager inspired to enlist in the military after the attacks of September 11, 2001. Included among its six tracks is reader-approved lead single "A Patriot's Act." Fellow Columbus native Copywrite joins D1 on "Fall in Line," as the project’s only guest feature. D1 produces the entire project, enlisting instrumental support from guitarist Jorge Gavidia, bassist G Koop, and keyboardist Kate Hillson.

Not pushing the political agenda of Democrats nor Republicans, Political Love Story is a call to arms on rallying the public to seek truth and putting an end to blind patriotism.
